Terms of Use

Last updated: July 20, 2026

These terms govern your use of the GenerateQRCodes.net website at generateqrcodes.net ("the site"). By using the site you accept these terms; if you do not accept them, do not use the site.

1. The service

GenerateQRCodes.net provides free, browser-based QR code generators. Codes are produced by JavaScript on your device; the content you encode is yours and is not transmitted to us (see the privacy policy). The site also offers an optional free account for saving generated codes.

2. No guarantee of suitability

We work to keep the encoding accurate — the engine is tested against the relevant format conventions and documented on the methodology page — but the site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. Real-world scanning depends on factors outside the code itself (print quality, size, lighting, scanner software). You are responsible for testing any generated code with a real device before printing, distributing, or otherwise relying on it.

3. Accounts

If you create an account:

  • It is free and optional — every generator works without one. An account exists solely to store the codes you choose to save.
  • You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for activity under your account. Email confirmation is required at sign-up.
  • An account can store up to 500 saved codes.
  • You can delete individual saved codes or all of them at any time; deleting the account itself works as described on the account page and in the privacy policy.
  • We may suspend or delete accounts used in violation of these terms, and may delete accounts after extended inactivity following reasonable notice to the account email.

4. Acceptable use of the site and of generated codes

You agree to use the site lawfully and not to:

  • Create or distribute QR codes for unlawful, fraudulent, or deceptive purposes — including codes that lead to phishing pages, malware, or scams, or codes placed over legitimate codes to intercept their traffic;
  • Use generated codes to impersonate another person or organization or to misrepresent who is behind a link, message, or payment request;
  • Encode content you have no right to distribute;
  • Interfere with or disrupt the site, its hosting, or its security;
  • Scrape, harvest, or bulk-download content by automated means in a manner that burdens the service.

Because encoding happens in your browser, we do not and cannot review the content of codes you generate. You are solely responsible for what you encode and where you deploy it. If we learn — for example through an abuse report — that codes saved to an account are used in violation of these terms, we may remove them.

5. Intellectual property

The site's content — text, explanations, worked examples, design, and code — is owned by the site operator and protected by applicable intellectual-property law. The QR codes you generate are yours: we claim no rights over your generated codes or the content you encode in them. You may quote brief excerpts of the site with attribution; you may not republish substantial portions of the site as your own.

6. Third-party services and advertising

The site may link to third-party sites and may in the future display clearly-labeled advertising (see the privacy policy for the current state). Third-party services and sites are governed by their own terms; GenerateQRCodes.net is not responsible for their content or practices, and the presence of an advertisement is not an endorsement.

7. Availability and modification

We may add, change, suspend, or remove tools or content at any time, and may modify these terms. Material changes will be reflected by the date at the top of this page; continued use after a change constitutes acceptance. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Note that codes you have already generated are static and independent of the site — they keep working regardless of the site's availability.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the site operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or business, arising from or related to your use of the site, any generated code, or reliance on any result it produces. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws applicable at the site operator’s principal place of business, and disputes are subject to the courts competent for that place, except where the mandatory consumer-protection law of your country or state of residence provides otherwise. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot lawfully be limited by agreement.

10. Contact

Questions about these terms — and reports of codes or accounts used abusively — can be raised through the contact page.
