GenerateQRCodes.net is a set of focused QR code generators that run entirely in your browser. It is published by Sumvia, the team behind the Sumvia.net calculator network, and it exists because a QR code is just text in a standard format — you should not need an account, a subscription, or a watermark-removal fee to make one.

What the site covers

The main generator produces all ten supported content types — links, plain text, WiFi networks, contact cards, email, SMS, phone calls, WhatsApp chats, locations, and calendar events — with full styling, PNG/SVG download, copy, share, and print. Codes that stay yours — because nothing is hosted

Every code this site produces is a static QR code: your data is encoded directly in the image. There is no redirect through our servers — which means there is nothing we host that could expire, break, or be paywalled. The code cannot stop working when a trial ends, because it never depended on us in the first place. It would keep working if this site vanished tomorrow. The honest trade-off: a static code cannot be edited after printing, and scans cannot be counted. We think that is the right default, and we say so instead of upselling the alternative.

If a code you printed elsewhere suddenly stopped working

You are probably not imagining it, and you did nothing wrong. A common industry pattern works like this: a "free" generator quietly makes a dynamic code — one that points at the provider's own domain, which then redirects to your destination. Everything scans fine during the trial. When the trial lapses, the redirect is switched to an upgrade page, and every printed menu, poster, and business card now advertises the provider's pricing instead of your content. The fix being sold is a subscription to keep your own code alive.

Static codes are immune to this by construction — there is no middleman to switch anything off. If you are re-printing after that experience: generate the code here, point it at a URL you control, and no third party (including us) can ever hold it hostage. Dynamic codes do have legitimate uses — campaign analytics, destinations that must change after printing — but that is a hosting service you choose deliberately, not a default you should be defaulted into.

What saving to an account adds (and what it doesn't)

You can use every generator with no account at all, and "Save to this device" keeps a code in your own browser without one. A free account adds exactly one thing: your saved codes live in a private cloud library, so you can re-download and re-print them from any device. It changes nothing about the codes themselves — they are just as static, and printing one never depends on your account existing. Saved codes store only what you explicitly chose to save, and the generator warns you before sensitive content (WiFi passwords, contact cards) is saved to the cloud rather than the device.

Tested encoding logic

Each payload format is implemented as small, typed functions with automated tests checked against the relevant conventions — the WIFI: string format, vCard, mailto:, geo: URIs, and calendar events — and the rendering engine is verified by round-trip tests that rasterize each generated code and decode it back with an independent decoder. The worked examples in page copy are generated at build time by the same code that powers the generators, so documentation cannot drift from the implementation. Browser-native by design

Encoding happens on your device. There is no upload step, nothing you type into a generator is transmitted or logged, and the tools stay usable on a flaky connection once the page has loaded. This is a deliberate design constraint of every Sumvia site — and it matters more here than most places, because WiFi passwords and contact details are exactly the kind of data that should not transit someone else's server.

Practical limits

A QR code is only as good as its scan. Print size, contrast, and error-correction level all affect real-world reliability, and older scanning apps vary in which payload conventions they honor. Each generator's page states the conventions it uses and its printing guidance; always test a printed code with a real device before distributing it.
